Default communication
| Protocol | Modbus RTU |
|---|---|
| Baud (factory) | 19200 bps — options: 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400 |
| Data · parity · stop | 8 · Even · 1 |
| Max per request | 63 registers |
| Manual address style | Wire address as is (0-based) |
- Addressing: the read example (p.19) sends 02 03 0C 1E 00 04 27 6C to read W3102-W3105 and gets 02 03 08 00 28 02 58 01 F4 00 00 52 B0 (the manual table prints the count as «004», one digit short). The write example is 02 06 23 29 00 0D 92 70 (W9001, p.19) and the FC16 example 02 10 23 29 00 02 04 00 14 00 1E 73 A4 -> 02 10 23 29 00 02 9B B7 (p.20). Manual number = frame address (0-based). All CRCs match calculation.
- Factory settings: Add = OFF (no address assigned; set 1-247 to get replies), tbr 19.2 kbps, tFO 8E1, tto 10 s (pp.32-33). 8O1/8E1/8N1/8N2 and 4.8-38.4 kbps selectable. Changed communication settings take effect after a power cycle (p.31).
- Function codes 03 (up to 63 words), 06, 16 (up to 61 words), 23 (20 read + 20 write words), 43/14 (device identification) and 08 (p.18).
Registers (44)
«Wire» is the 0-based address in the request frame (PortDock's «0-based» notation). Value = raw × scale. Table: HR holding register, IR input register, CO coil, DI discrete input. Function codes in hex.
Swipe the table sideways — the first column (manual address) stays put.

Notes
- Only registers whose address and unit/values are in this manual are included. The Modbus addresses of the command word CMD, status word ETA and speeds (LFRD, RFRD) are not in this manual (they appear only as communication scanner factory assignments), so they are not listed separately; with factory settings, write CMD and LFRD through nC1/nC2 (12761/12762) and read ETA and RFRD through nM1/nM2 (12741/12742). Other parameter addresses are in the communication parameters spreadsheet (NVE41316) and are left out.
- The manual states read/write access only for the communication settings (6001-6005), so apart from 9001/9002 and nC1-8 (writes shown in examples) everything is listed as read (r); nMA/nCA are set from the menus.
Read it with PortDock
- Install the free PortDock Modbus Master and connect with the device's settings.
- On the table toolbar, «Device profile…» → pick this device → «Load». Polling tables, names, types and the Slave ID are filled in (optionally the serial settings too).
- Names carry the unit and scale (e.g. «×0.01 Hz»). Values on screen are raw — multiply by the scale.
- To test your program without the device, PortDock Modbus Slave's «Emulate device…» serves the same map with example values.
