An unofficial summary of facts (addresses, types, units, scaling) from the maker's manual. Not affiliated with the maker; values can differ by firmware or model. Always check the device manual before writing (run commands, settings).
Default communication
| Protocol | Modbus RTU |
|---|---|
| Baud (factory) | 19200 bps — options: 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, 76800, 115200 |
| Data · parity · stop | 8 · Even · 1 |
| Max per request | 125 registers |
| Manual address style | 40001/30001 style (wire address + 1, first digit = table) |
- Addressing: the read example in the communication manual (p.261 (PDF 262)) sends 11 03 03 EB 00 03 77 2B to read 41004-41006 (Pr.4-6); the write example 05 06 00 0D 17 70 17 99 writes 60 Hz to 40014; the FC10 example (p.263 (PDF 264)) 19 10 03 EE 00 02 04 00 05 00 0A 86 3D writes 41007 and 41008. Frame address = manual number - 40001. CRCs match calculation.
- To use Modbus RTU set Pr.549 = 1 (default 0 = Mitsubishi protocol). Pr.117 station default 0 is broadcast (no reply), so set 1-247. Pr.118 default 192 = 19200 bps, Pr.120 default 2 = even parity, 1 stop bit (Pr.119 stop bits apply only when Pr.120 = 0), 8 data bits fixed. Reset the inverter after changing these (pp.257-258 (PDF 258-259)).
- Function codes 03, 06, 08, 10, 46. Up to 125 registers per read/write. With a communication option installed and Pr.550 = 9999 (initial), operation commands from the PU connector are invalid.
Registers (33)
«Wire» is the 0-based address in the request frame (PortDock's «0-based» notation). Value = raw × scale. Table: HR holding register, IR input register, CO coil, DI discrete input. Function codes in hex.
Swipe the table sideways — the first column (manual address) stays put.

Notes
- Monitor registers (40201-) are taken from the 'monitor code 2' column of the Pr.52 monitor item list in the Function manual. Negative indication (○) in that table is not available over RS-485 (Modbus RTU), so all are listed as unsigned 16-bit.
- Bit meanings are for the standard model. Specifications may differ by date of manufacture (Function manual p.399 NOTE).
- Cumulative energy 40225 is left out: the Modbus column of the monitor list says 0.01 kWh, but the cumulative power section of the same manual (p.402 (PDF 403)) gives 1 kWh increments via communication (0-9999 or 0-65535 kWh by Pr.170). The 32-bit cumulative energy registers (40277-40280), whose units are explicit, are included instead.
Read it with PortDock
- Install the free PortDock Modbus Master and connect with the device's settings.
- On the table toolbar, «Device profile…» → pick this device → «Load». Polling tables, names, types and the Slave ID are filled in (optionally the serial settings too).
- Names carry the unit and scale (e.g. «×0.01 Hz»). Values on screen are raw — multiply by the scale.
- To test your program without the device, PortDock Modbus Slave's «Emulate device…» serves the same map with example values.
