1. Reference material

• The web tools (calculators), guides and device Modbus register maps are reference material based on published standards and manufacturer documents.
• Real values can differ by model, firmware version, settings and installation. Before design, installation or operation, check the equipment manual and the applicable standards and regulations.
• Work that needs a licence or inspection, such as electrical installation or machine safety, should be checked by a qualified person.

2. How this site is made

• The articles, calculators and register maps on this site were made with the help of AI tools.
• Formulas and figures were checked by the author against standards and official manufacturer documents, and the calculators' formulas are tested automatically (against the worked examples in those documents where they exist). Register maps are transcribed from the tables in the manufacturer's manual, and the addressing is checked against the manual's communication examples.
• Source documents and page numbers are listed in each page's «Basis», «Sources» or «References» section. Values that could not be confirmed in the original are left out, with the reason noted.
• The values were not tested on real equipment, so check the original document and your device once more before relying on them.

3. Mistakes and responsibility

• If you find a mistake, please tell us through the contact page or a GitHub issue (the source document and page number help us fix it faster). Corrections are recorded in the GitHub repository.
• This site is free. Please do not base design, installation or operation decisions on its calculations or data alone; do the checks in section 1 as well.
• Nothing in this notice limits liability for damage caused by the operator's intent or gross negligence; such cases follow the applicable law.

4. Programs, data and trademarks

• The Windows programs are distributed under GPL-3.0; warranty and liability follow sections 15 and 16 of that licence (to the extent permitted by applicable law).
• The device register map data is licensed under CC BY 4.0. Please credit the source when you use it.
• Manufacturer and model names are trademarks of their owners and are used only to identify equipment. PortDock is not affiliated with any manufacturer.
• Web-tool, guide and device map pages may show ads; PortDock does not choose the ad content. Cookies and analytics are covered in the privacy policy.
