An unofficial summary of facts (addresses, types, units, scaling) from the maker's manual. Not affiliated with the maker; values can differ by firmware or model. Always check the device manual before writing (run commands, settings).
Default communication
| Protocol | Modbus RTU |
|---|---|
| Baud (factory) | 9600 bps — options: 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400 |
| Data · parity · stop | — · None · 1 |
| Slave ID (factory) | 1 (1~127) |
| Manual address style | 40001/30001 style (wire address + 1, first digit = table) |
- Evidence: the manual writes '40001 (0000)' = PLC number plus hex wire address. Printed p.32 (PDF p.31): FC01 example '01 01 00 00 00 03 7C 0B' reads coils 00001-00003 (0000-0002, L/GO/H-OUT); FC02 example '01 02 00 00 00 01 B9 CA' reads 10001 (0000, HOLD). Printed p.34 (PDF p.33): exception example '01 03 00 95 00 07' starts at the unused address just before 40151 (0096) and gets exception 02. Wire address = bracket value = PLC number minus 00001/10001/30001/40001. All example CRCs verified.
- Defaults: station 001, 9600 bps, parity NONE, response wait 20 ms, comm write protect ON (printed p.27, PDF p.26). Stop bit fixed at 1 (40154 '0 (1-STOP)' fixed, printed p.39). Data bits are not stated in the manual.
- With write protect (CWP) ON, write requests get exception 04 (printed p.34) — set CWP OFF first.
Registers (46)
«Wire» is the 0-based address in the request frame (PortDock's «0-based» notation). Value = raw × scale. Table: HR holding register, IR input register, CO coil, DI discrete input. Function codes in hex.
Swipe the table sideways — the first column (manual address) stays put.

Notes
- Communication is optional — only option code 'C' models (LM3-...-3RC/3NC/3PC-A, LM6-...-RC-A) have RS485 (printed p.6, PDF p.5).
- PV, MAX, MIN, comparison values and retransmission scales are integers without decimal point; DOT (31008/40062) sets the decimal position.
- SPAN (40053, 0.100-5.000), FACT (40055), S.TMR (40102, 0.0-99.9 s) and stop bit (40154) are omitted: raw encoding not stated or fixed.
- The register map is only in the Korean user manual (2023); the 2-page English manual (LM_manual_en_260224) has none. This source covers LM3 and LM6 only.
Read it with PortDock
- Install the free PortDock Modbus Master and connect with the device's settings.
- On the table toolbar, «Device profile…» → pick this device → «Load». Polling tables, names, types and the Slave ID are filled in (optionally the serial settings too).
- Names carry the unit and scale (e.g. «×0.01 Hz»). Values on screen are raw — multiply by the scale.
- To test your program without the device, PortDock Modbus Slave's «Emulate device…» serves the same map with example values.
